Bologna

Do you know that exactly Bologna was announced the most picturesque city in the world! All of its sights have a very good look. And if you're going to the capital of Emilia-Romagna region you should certainly see all of them. The oldest European University is situated in Bologna. Such celebrated people as Giovanni Cassini, Copernicus and modern writer Umberto Eco studied here.

Another main sights of the city are two old towers. Asinelli and Garisenda are the pride of Bologna, and if you climb up to the peak, you'll see the majesty and beauty of Bologna. By the way when staying on the peak of the tower you'll realise why Bologna is considered to be a red city! Majority of its buildings is made of red bricks, thus when looking over the city it seems to be red.

Do not forget to see the Church of San Petronio (Basilica di San Petronio) which is situated on the Piazza Maggiore Bologna, the main square in the city. And of course do not miss a chance to taste its traditional cuisine. It would be a real crime from your side.
