Modena

Ferrari 360 Modena

Modena is situated in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. The city of Modens was founded by Etruscan. On the surrounded territories were settlements since the Iron Age.

This old ancient city was a beloved place among archbishops and a favorite place for high-class car producers such as Ferrari, Pagani, Lamborghini and Maserati. The model of Ferrari "Modena 360" is named after the city itself.

The most successful modern son of Modena is Luciano Pavarotti, a world known opera singer and symbol of the city.

Due to the activity of Francesco d'Erste, the duke of Modena the University of Modena was founded in 1683 that is famous for its medical and juridical education.

The Cathedral of Modena is under protection of UNESCO, which added it to the World Heritage Site. The construction of it started in 1099.

The Ducal Palace is worth of seeing. The construction of it was started in 1634 and finished after more than 200 years. This building in a Baroque style was a residence of Francesco d'Erste, a seat of the Este court, and currently a place where the Accademia Militare di Modena, the Military museum and a Library with valuable and precious books.
